Quinn Goes West A private investigator novel Liam Quinn Mysteries Book 3 edition by LH Thomson Literature Fiction eBooks

“Quinn Goes West” transported me back to “The flashlight, the Detective paperback, and under the covers.” This book took me back to the real detectives of yesterday like Mike Hammer and I immediately bonded with this Five Star Novel.

Liam Quinn, the author’s Mike Hammer, doesn’t have a Velda. However, he has Nora; or does he? Liam served time in prison, art forgery, and now contracts with an insurance firm to investigate fraud. In true Hammers manner, Liam has contact from the other side of the “blue line” and is constantly dealing with the other side while investigating fraud..

In this investigation, we find Liam hog tied in an isolated location in the desert of Arizona. The question proposed was how and why he ended up in the desert with three janitors of a “concerned” local business tycoon.

Amanda Grey’s insurance claim involves a collection of fine art left after her husband died. Mr. Grey was sautéed in a tanning booth; a murder or an accident? In addition, one of the prized pieces of art is missing. Before this story ends Liam survives the desert, a short adventure in the ring, a bum full of birdshot, and a new relationship with the local doctor.

Don’t worry about Liam because in true form he meets a new casts of unsavory characters and has to rely on old friends from the other side to deal with these characters.

However, do not worry because Liam finally solves bith the missing painting and the death of Mr. Grey. However, the mystery still remains; will Nora and Liam ever solve their relationship.

I recommend this book to any readers who miss old fashion detective stories.

Quinn Goes West A private investigator novel Liam Quinn Mysteries Book 3 edition by LH Thomson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Fun read. Good story. Interesting characters. Nothing too complicated, but some surprises in the plot. Book needs better editing for errors, and greater vocabulary usage. Thus the three star rating instead of four star.
Quinn Goes West is #3 in the Liam Quinn series about a freelance insurance investigator. Unlike books 1 and 2, Quinn isn't in Philly; he's working out of state in Arizona taking inventory of an art collection. In typical Quinn fashion, his business can't be straightforward. He ticks off the mob, an old TV star, and a beautiful woman.
This book can easily stand alone however if you haven't read the first 2 books, I suggest you read them in order. Unlike some series, there is no mediocre first book where the author is trying to find his voice. They are all great mysteries with believable characters.
Mr. Thomson, don't keep your fans waiting too long for #4.
...You probably just blurted it out and threw her off completely, like you was asking if it was fish for supper." Great dialogue, humor and likeable characters abound in this crime mystery that always has me coming back for more.Story line moves at a goodly pace and I like the many snarls the protagonist gets himself into and out of or as he so flippantly puts it, "everything had gone pretty much par for the course a car chase, a homicide, the local cops angry at me - the usual stuff, but nothing I couldn't handle." A fun romp and will be reading more of Liam Quinn in the near future!
Quinn Goes West- In which Quinn manages to travel all the way from Philly to Phoenix and still run into people from the "family" back home. The writing is good, the pace is just perfect, and there are a few real "LOL" passages. I enjoyed it a lot and will definitely be reading more of the series.
This book using back and forth scenes, a nice change.

Quinn went to west, to appraise some art works, but end up tangled up with mob. Only Quinn could get in trouble so far away from home. He seemed attracting troubles wherever he went. There's also a nice scene about his relationship with his true love.

Scenes from this book (the whole series actually) were quite dark and gruesome. However, they way Quinn narrated made them sounds easy, still thrilling but not frightening. I love Quinn and his smart*** comments.
I love Quinn. He's a down to earth guy, an ex-boxer and an artist, making a living as an insurance investigator while trying to live down the consequences his old hobby of forging art, something he truly regrets doing.
He's got a great family and some good friends, but he manages to get himself into more trouble than is normal for most people. Its fun and interesting to go along with him while he gets himself out of the trouble and solves a crime or two at the same time.
This time he's out of his Philly neighborhood and into the Arizona desert where things get hotter than he bargained for. Finally in this story, his love life gets the boost it needed and his good heart is at last rewarded.
My only issue is the typos, but I will say there are less of them in this book than previous books in this series.
I think this is the best one so far. The third one I have read. It is best to read them in order. I think Quinn might be better when he is away from his family. He does not have his brother who still does not like him or his mother who tries to tell him what to do all the time. This was a good read. Quinn gets into trouble, as usual, with out trying to. Nearly gets killed, I think three times, gets fried by the sun once. Has some women throw them selves at him. Will he remain true to Nora and how will they turn out in the end?

Quinn books are easy to read, hold you attention and have twist and turns that make you want to finish the book once you start. These are good light mystery books that are well worth the price and I think you will enjoy them.
